Dr. Ashwini Kumar Banerjee is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Medcare Medical Centre with over 20 years of clinical experience. He completed his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Calcutta, India, followed by specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine in the UK. He holds prestigious qualifications including Fellowship of the European Board of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), along with an MBA in International Healthcare Management. His career spans both the UK National Health Service and the UAE, where he has worked across leading hospitals including East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and multiple major healthcare providers in Dubai.

Dr. Banerjee has extensive expertise in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures. He performs advanced interventions including upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), endoscopic ultrasound, feeding tube placement, stricture dilation, and stent placement, as well as liver fibrosis assessment (FibroScan). He treats a wide spectrum of digestive and liver conditions including acid reflux, bloating, abdominal pain, swallowing difficulties, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel conditions (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), haemorrhoids, polyps, irritable bowel syndrome, fatty liver disease, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and pancreatic disorders.
