Dr. Shakeel Ismail

Dr. Shakeel Ismail is a General Practitioner working in the Emergency Department at Mediclinic City Hospital. He trained at the University of Cape Town and completed residency at King Edward Hospital in Durban, South Africa. His career began at Khayelitsha Community Health Centre in Cape Town, where he led the 24-hour trauma unit as senior medical officer, then progressed through level 1 accident and emergency departments at Vincent Pallotti and Christian Barnard Memorial private hospitals before relocating to Australia as Principal House Officer at Redcliffe Hospital's Emergency Department.

Dr. Ismail is highly skilled across the full spectrum of emergency care. He manages acute medical and surgical emergencies, all grades of trauma, paediatric emergencies, obstetric and gynaecological crises, and psychiatric emergencies. His training includes Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). He is comfortable treating everyone from walk-in patients to those requiring full resuscitation and stabilisation.
