Dr. Mahmoud Elghannam is an Associate Staff Physician in Cardiac Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. With 17 years of clinical experience, he is a cardiothoracic surgeon trained in both Egypt and Germany, bringing extensive expertise in complex heart surgery to the UAE.

Dr. Elghannam trained at leading institutions across two countries: he earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, completed his internship at Eldemerdash University Clinic, and undertook his residency and fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Bergmannsheil University Hospital in Bochum, Germany. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he worked as a specialist in adult cardiac surgery in Germany. His clinical focus centres on adult heart surgery, including heart valve repair and replacement, coronary artery bypass surgery (keyhole heart surgery to improve blood flow), and aortic surgery.
