Dr. Sowmya Veerasuri

Dr. Sowmya Veerasuri is a Staff Physician in Diagnostic Radiology & Imaging at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Diagnostics Institute. She trained in the UK, completing the prestigious Severn Radiology Training Programme and earning her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Radiology from the UK's General Medical Council. She previously worked as a Consultant Radiologist at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in England, where she held leadership roles in cancer screening and regional tumor boards.

Dr. Veerasuri has extensive expertise in imaging the female reproductive system—including diagnosing endometriosis, fibroids, and ovarian cysts—as well as imaging cancers related to women's health. She also brings broad experience in colorectal cancer imaging from her role as a core member of a cancer screening program. Her skills span ultrasound scanning (particularly of the pelvis and abdomen), advanced abdominal imaging, and plain X-rays.

Beyond clinical work, Dr. Veerasuri is committed to teaching, having trained junior radiologists in the UK and earning two nominations for 'Trainer of the Year.' She maintains strong academic involvement as a peer reviewer for medical journals and has published in respected publications.
