Dr. Ghassan El-Sayed

Dr. Ghassan El-Sayed is a consultant gastroenterologist and general physician with extensive training in the United Kingdom. He completed his foundation years in London and undertook specialist gastroenterology training through the North East Deanery, rotating through leading teaching hospitals including Royal Free and University College London Hospitals. He obtained his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2015 and pursued further fellowship training in advanced pancreato-biliary endoscopy. Since 2016, he has worked as a full-time gastroenterologist and general physician at University Hospital Dorset, where he led the endoscopy training programme and chaired the conscious sedation committee.

Dr. El-Sayed specializes in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, with a particular focus on complex pancreatic and biliary conditions. His core expertise includes upper and lower endoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), push enteroscopy, and wireless capsule endoscopy. He performs advanced interventions including EUS-guided drainage of pancreatic collections, endoscopic stenting of the oesophagus and colon, stricture dilatation, and radiofrequency ablation of bile ducts and pancreatic tumours.

He has published research in international medical journals and presented his work at medical conferences. Dr. El-Sayed is a fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and holds membership in the British Society of Gastroenterology.
