Dr. David John Ralph

Dr. David John Ralph is a Consultant Urologist at King's College Hospital London in Dubai, with nearly 30 years of clinical experience and an international reputation in andrology and reconstructive urology. He trained in general surgery at St Thomas's and St Mary's Hospitals in London, followed by specialist urology training at Leeds and St Peter's Hospitals. He holds fellowships from both the Royal College of Surgeons of London and Edinburgh, and has studied biochemistry (BSc) and completed postgraduate qualifications (MS) in London. Since 1996, he has been Professor of Urology at University College London Hospitals and University College London, where he transformed the andrology department from a single-person unit into the world's largest, now employing six consultants, six clinical fellows, and multiple research students with over 50 international clinical observers annually.

Dr. Ralph's clinical practice focuses entirely on male sexual medicine and genital reconstruction. He performs over 200 penile implant procedures per year and leads a large multidisciplinary erectile dysfunction service. His expertise spans penile reconstruction, Peyronie's disease (curvature of the penis), erectile dysfunction, penile prosthesis insertion, male infertility, genital microsurgery, phalloplasty, adolescent genital disorders, priapism (prolonged unwanted erections), and penile cancer. He founded the UK's national penile cancer centre, an international training facility for penile prosthesis surgery, and the largest priapism treatment centre in the country. He also directs the Erectile Dysfunction Clinical Trials Unit and runs a European training fellowship in penile implant surgery.

Dr. Ralph has held major leadership roles including chairman of the British Association of Urological Surgeons' andrology section, president of the British Society of Sexual Medicine, and president of the European Society for Sexual Medicine. He is currently chairman of the European Society of Genitourethral Reconstructive Surgeons and president of the Sexual Advice Association charity.
