Dr. Stephan Ortner

Dr Stephan Ortner is an Austrian board-certified consultant in orthopaedics and trauma with over 20 years of clinical experience. He trained at the Medical University of Vienna and several university clinics at the General Hospital Vienna (AKH Wien), and worked as a consultant in hospitals throughout Austria before moving to the UAE in 2011. He holds qualifications in orthopaedics and traumatology, an MD, and a PhD in biology and genetics, which inform his distinctive approach to musculoskeletal care.

Dr Ortner specialises in both surgical and non-surgical treatments, with a strong emphasis on conservative (non-invasive) therapies. His clinical interests include treatment of fractures and dislocations in children and adults, arthroscopic knee surgery for cartilage and ligament injuries, ankle and foot surgery, and regenerative medicine techniques such as PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections, stem-cell therapy, and prolotherapy for osteoarthritis and inflammatory joint conditions. He also treats sports injuries across age groups and diagnoses musculoskeletal disorders.
