Dr. Ravi Dara

Dr. Ravi Dara is a Specialist Physician in Transfusion Medicine at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, where he leads clinical services in blood transfusion and related therapies. He holds qualifications from India's leading medical institutions, including an MBBS from Panjabrao Deshmukh Medical College, an MD in Transfusion Medicine from PGIMER, and a DNB in Immunohematology and Transfusion Medicine. Licensed by Abu Dhabi's Department of Health, he brings over 8 years of clinical experience in transfusion medicine and hematology.

Dr. Dara specializes in blood transfusion, therapeutic apheresis (a procedure to remove or replace blood components), immunohematology (blood typing and compatibility testing), and cellular therapy. He has published more than 30 research papers in academic journals and received the Harold Gunson Fellowship Award twice in recognition of his contributions to the field. Before relocating to the UAE, he served as Head of Transfusion Medicine at Manipal Hospital and as an attending consultant at Medanta – The Medicity Hospital in India.

He is fluent in English and Hindi and holds certification from the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB) in Cellular Therapy, demonstrating his commitment to evidence-based practice in blood medicine and cell-based treatments.
