Dr. Shimaa Elmowafi

Ms. Shimaa Elmowafi is a certified diabetes educator with more than 15 years of clinical experience across government and private hospitals in the United Arab Emirates. She joined Mediclinic Parkview Hospital as a Diabetes Educator in 2020, bringing expertise from her previous roles including diabetes case manager at the Dubai Health Authority and manager of the diabetes centre of excellence at American Hospital Dubai.

She specializes in comprehensive diabetes management for all types of diabetes, with particular expertise in insulin therapy and newer injectable medications. Ms. Shimaa is skilled in setting up and interpreting insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices. She teaches patients safe injection techniques, dose adjustments, and practical skills for recognizing and managing blood sugar emergencies at home.

Ms. Shimaa takes a holistic approach, working with patients and families to make informed lifestyle choices and achieve better health outcomes. She regularly conducts educational lectures for healthcare providers and coordinates multidisciplinary diabetes teams to develop personalized care plans.
