Dr. Abdulrahman Zakaria Ahmad Maher

Dr. Abdul-Rahman Maher is a vascular and endovascular surgeon at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi. He trained in vascular surgery in Auckland and Sydney, and previously served as a clinical lecturer at the School of Medicine, University of Western Australia. He is affiliated with several major Australian hospitals including Gold Coast University Hospital, Hollywood Private Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Dr. Maher received his medical degree in Egypt and completed research training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Maher specialises in minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques for a wide range of vascular conditions. He treats varicose veins using laser, radiofrequency and vein-glue methods; manages diabetic foot ulcers and performs limb salvage procedures to prevent gangrene and amputation; treats aortic aneurysms and aortic ulcers using endovascular techniques; addresses carotid artery disease to prevent stroke; and opens blocked leg arteries using balloons, stents, atherectomy devices and shockwave therapy. He also creates and manages haemodialysis access for kidney patients and ports for chemotherapy.

Dr. Maher is an active fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and holds a Harvard Medical School affiliation in surgical leadership.
