Dr. Mustafa El Hakam

Dr. Mustafa El Hakam is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Al Zahra Hospital in Dubai. He trained in internal medicine at Lebanese University before completing his diploma in gastroenterology and hepatology from the American University of Beirut in 2009. He then undertook one year of specialised training in interventional endoscopy at the Free University of Brussels in Belgium, where he also obtained his European Board certification in gastroenterology.

Dr. El Hakam specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the stomach, intestines, and liver using both standard and advanced endoscopic techniques. He performs gastroscopy (camera inspection of the stomach), colonoscopy (camera inspection of the colon), ERCP (a procedure to treat bile duct and pancreatic conditions), and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), a technique combining ultrasound imaging with endoscopy for detailed internal examination.

He is experienced in managing hepatology and pancreatobiliary disorders—conditions affecting the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts. He is a good fit for patients needing endoscopic investigation or treatment of upper or lower gastrointestinal problems, particularly those requiring advanced or minimally invasive endoscopic techniques.
