Dr. Rajeev Kumar

Dr. Rajeev Kumar is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Zulekha Hospital Sharjah with over 17 years of clinical experience in comprehensive eye care. He completed his medical degree and postgraduate training at Kanpur University, India, followed by advanced fellowships in anterior segment microsurgery and phacoemulsification at Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai—one of Asia's largest eye centres. His training spans multiple countries and specializations, including refractive surgery techniques (LASIK, PRK, SMILE), corneal crosslinking for keratoconus, contact lens fitting, and retinal laser therapy.

Dr. Kumar's clinical expertise covers the full spectrum of eye conditions: cataracts, refractive errors, corneal disease, pediatric eye problems and squint (eye turn), glaucoma, and retinal disorders. He has particular depth in phacoemulsification (keyhole cataract surgery with lens implant) and modern vision-correction procedures. He has presented research on LASIK and SMILE outcomes at national and international conferences and holds an MBA in Healthcare Management alongside his medical qualifications.

He has served patients across the Gulf region, including roles at major hospitals in Saudi Arabia, and has been based at Zulekha Hospital Sharjah since 2012. Dr. Kumar is fluent in five languages—English, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, and Arabic—and sees patients of all ages.
