Dr. Praveen Peddu

Dr. Praveen Peddu is a Consultant Radiologist and Clinical Lead in Interventional Hepatobiliary Radiology at King's College Hospital London, bringing 29 years of medical experience. He trained initially as a surgeon in the UK before transitioning to radiology, completing his specialist training at King's College Hospital and earning board certifications from the Royal College of Surgeons and Royal College of Radiologists. Since his appointment as Consultant in 2008, he has led the hospital's hepatobiliary interventional radiology program.

Dr. Peddu specializes in minimally invasive, image-guided treatments for liver cancer and related conditions. He performs catheter-based interventions including chemoembolization and radioembolization for hepatocellular carcinoma and secondary liver cancers, as well as percutaneous ablation using microwave energy and irreversible electroporation (NanoKnife) for liver and pancreatic tumors. He introduced NanoKnife technology to the NHS in 2014 and is recognized internationally as a pioneer in this field. He also manages complex venous interventions prior to major liver surgery, portal hypertension procedures, emergency trauma embolization, and post-transplant vascular complications.

Dr. Peddu is a respected educator and researcher, having published peer-reviewed articles in major European journals, written textbook chapters, and regularly lectured at international conferences. He organizes live educational workshops in advanced interventional techniques. His approach combines technical expertise with a commitment to advancing the field through training and innovation.
