Dr. Anna Stepanova

Dr. Anna Stepanova is a neonatologist—a doctor who specializes in caring for newborns, especially critically ill and premature infants. She is Russian-certified in neonatology and resuscitation, with more than 13 years of experience in Russia and the UAE. She previously led the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at one of Russia's largest hospitals and now practices at American Hospital in Dubai.

Dr. Stepanova treats the most vulnerable newborns, including those born as early as 22–23 weeks of gestation. She manages critical conditions such as birth asphyxia (lack of oxygen at delivery), all types of shock, and other life-threatening neonatal emergencies. She is skilled in both mechanical ventilation (breathing machines) and non-invasive breathing support, surfactant therapy (a medication that helps lungs expand), and advanced treatments such as inhaled nitric oxide for severe lung disease. Her practice is grounded in evidence-based medicine.
