Dr. Meriem Guizani

Dr. Meriem Guizani is a fetal medicine consultant with two decades of experience in obstetrics, gynaecology, and specialized fetal assessment. She trained extensively in Belgium and France, including postgraduate qualifications in fetal medicine and obstetric ultrasound from the University of Lille. She has worked in leading Belgian hospitals including UZ Hospital, Saint Peter, and CHU Brugmann, where she developed expertise in complex pregnancy cases.

Her clinical focus is on detailed ultrasound screening during the first trimester, including assessing the fluid measurement at the back of the baby's neck (nuchal translucency) and identifying risk factors for pre-eclampsia early in pregnancy. She performs invasive diagnostic procedures such as amniotic fluid sampling and chorionic villus sampling (through the abdomen or cervix) to check for chromosomal abnormalities, and evaluates fetal development and maternal health issues that could affect the pregnancy.

Dr. Meriem is certified by the Fetal Medicine Foundation and brings a comprehensive approach to pregnancies with special concerns, combining detailed imaging, risk assessment, and when needed, minimally invasive testing to guide parents and their obstetric team.
