Dr. Dmitry Melnikov

Dr. Dmitry Melnikov, MD, PhD, is a Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Liv Hospital in Dubai. He trained at I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy and completed advanced fellowships at the Mayo Clinic in the USA, as well as specialized training under leading surgeons in Austria, Germany, and Belgium. He holds a PhD in craniofacial surgery focused on the role of perforating vessels in facial procedures. Currently, he serves as Associate Professor at Sechenov University and Head of the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology in Moscow.

Dr. Melnikov's clinical practice centres on complex reconstructive procedures using microsurgical techniques. He performs over 1,000 microsurgical breast reconstructions using various flap methods, more than 500 free perforator flap surgeries annually, and up to 900 aesthetic breast procedures yearly, including augmentation, reduction, and mastopexy. He also carries out approximately 200 aesthetic body surgeries annually, including abdominal wall reconstruction, liposuction, and body lifts. He specializes in lymphedema surgery and has extensive experience managing complex cases requiring advanced microsurgical expertise.

Fluent in English and Russian, Dr. Melnikov brings a global surgical perspective and is actively involved in academic teaching and research. He leads a team of 15 surgeons and holds leadership roles in the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) and the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery (WSRM), serving as President of the Russian Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
