Dr. Ayman W. El-Hattab

Dr. Ayman El-Hattab is a Consultant Clinical Geneticist and Director of the Genetics and Rare Disease Center at Burjeel, Abu Dhabi. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Jordan in 2002 and completed specialist training in the United States, obtaining board certifications in both Clinical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics. With over 15 years of experience, he has held senior positions at leading medical institutions across the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, and previously served as a professor in Sharjah.

Dr. El-Hattab specializes in diagnosing and managing rare genetic disorders, metabolic conditions, and chromosomal abnormalities. He has particular expertise in mitochondrial disorders, carnitine deficiency, glycogen storage diseases, and genetic microdeletions. His work combines clinical diagnosis with genetic counseling to help families understand inherited conditions and plan for future pregnancies.

He is the Founder and President of the MENA Organization for Rare Diseases, Chief Author for Genetics at SimulConsult (a diagnostic decision support system), and Consulting Editor for GeneReviews at the University of Washington. Dr. El-Hattab is well suited for patients seeking expert genetic evaluation for rare conditions, complex family histories, or when a diagnosis has proven difficult to establish.
