Dr. Shaista Meraj

Dr Shaista Meraj is a UK-trained Consultant Radiologist with 25 years of experience, now practising at NMC Healthcare in Dubai. She trained through the NHS and spent 10 years at Bolton Hospital NHS Trust, where she led the radiology department for symptomatic breast services. During her tenure in the UK, she oversaw clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management for a busy breast screening and symptomatic services unit.

Dr Meraj is an expert in breast imaging across multiple modalities—mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and CT scans—as well as interventional radiology procedures for breast diagnosis and treatment. She is proficient in multimodality breast imaging and interventions, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to refine patient diagnosis and guide treatment decisions. Her work has extended to innovation; she participated in one of Europe's largest regional imaging initiatives (Greater Manchester Enterprise Imaging Procurement) and collaborated with Google Health DeepMind on breast cancer screening projects.
