Dr. Faisel Ikram

Dr. Faisel Ikram is a consultant general surgeon and surgical gastroenterologist with over 20 years of experience in advanced robotic and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. He trained at Johannesburg General Hospital and Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, where he later became a consultant and lecturer in surgical gastroenterology at Wits Medical School. He is now one of the established robotic surgeons at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai.

Dr. Ikram specialises in complex abdominal surgery, gastrointestinal and cancer procedures using minimally invasive techniques. His main areas of focus include robotic and keyhole surgery for colorectal, stomach and pancreatic cancers; comprehensive hernia repair (including inguinal, ventral, incisional and femoral hernias); hiatal hernia and acid reflux surgery; and treatment of inflammatory bowel conditions such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. He also performs keyhole gallbladder removal, appendectomy, and proctological procedures such as haemorrhoid and fistula treatment.

Dr. Ikram is deeply committed to surgical education and training. He has led numerous workshops on minimally invasive surgical techniques in South Africa and currently trains medical students at Mohammed Bin Rashid Medical University in Dubai. He brings a patient-centred approach to safe and precise surgical care.
