Dr. Ajay Babu Ramakrishnan

Dr. Ajay Babu Ramakrishnan is a Specialist in Anesthesia and Clinical Lead for ICU and Urgent Care at Medeor Hospital Abu Dhabi. He holds an MBBS from Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia and an MD in Anesthesiology from PESIMSR in India, with over five years of experience in premium healthcare institutes across India. Before joining Medeor, he worked extensively in the ICUs of MIOT Hospital Chennai, where he provided round-the-clock critical care to patients across medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, and trauma specialties.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Ajay led the care of over 5,000 critically ill patients, demonstrating his capacity to manage high-acuity cases under pressure. He is proficient in advanced haemodynamic monitoring, critical care ultrasound, and complex interventional procedures including intubation, central lines, percutaneous tracheostomy, and temporary pacemaker placement. He specializes in managing multi-organ failure using advanced life support such as ECMO, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP).
