Dr. Sherif Amer

Dr. Sherif Amer is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Al Zahra Hospital in Dubai with more than 15 years of clinical experience managing complex heart conditions in adults. He holds an MBBCh from Ain Shams University in Egypt, an MSc and MD in cardiology, and MRCP (UK) membership. His training spans the United Kingdom, United States, and Europe, including fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh (ISMETT, Italy) and the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in the USA, where he focused on advanced cardiac catheterization techniques. He is GMC-registered with UK deanery experience in the East of England and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK).

Dr. Amer's clinical expertise covers heart failure management, structural heart disease, cardiac electrophysiology, and implantable device therapy including pacemakers and defibrillators. He performs a full range of interventional procedures, including emergency primary angioplasty for heart attacks (opening blocked arteries within 90 minutes), transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), and chronic total occlusion (CTO) interventions. He also works with bioabsorbable coronary stents—newer technology that is absorbed by the body rather than leaving a permanent metal scaffold.

Dr. Amer is part of a three-cardiologist interventional team at Al Zahra delivering elective, urgent, and emergency cardiac services across the UAE. He is fluent in English and Arabic and is Egyptian. His approach combines international best practice with hands-on interventional expertise, making him well-suited for patients needing complex heart surgery or device management.
