Dr. Fathelrahman Ahmed

Dr. Fathelrahman Ahmed is a Consultant Physician in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Internal Medicine with over 25 years of clinical experience across the United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates. He trained at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM), one of the world's leading centres, and holds fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians in London and Edinburgh. His career spans major NHS hospitals including Churchill Hospital Oxford, Milton Keynes University Hospital, Stoke Mandeville, and Basildon & Thurrock, before relocating to the UAE where he worked at IBHO Hospital.

Dr. Ahmed has extensive expertise in managing diabetes in all its forms — type 1 and 2, gestational diabetes, and complex cases with acute complications. He diagnoses and treats hormonal disorders affecting the thyroid, adrenal, pituitary and parathyroid glands, and manages metabolic conditions including high cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis and lipid disorders. He is experienced in caring for patients with multiple complex medical needs, including those recovering from heart attacks, strokes, or surgery, working closely with hepatology, nephrology, cardiology and transplant teams. He has established a diabetes centre of excellence in Ras Al Khaimah and launched the first adult insulin pump service in the Emirates Health Services.
