Dr. Hiya Boro

Dr. Hiya Boro is a specialist endocrinologist at NMC Healthcare with 13 years of clinical experience in diabetes and hormonal disorders. She trained at India's leading medical institutions, completing her MBBS at Gauhati Medical College (2006–2011), an MD in Internal Medicine at Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi (2012–2015), and a DM (doctorate) in Endocrinology at AIIMS, New Delhi (2017–2019). Before joining NMC in the UAE, she led the Endocrinology department at a large private tertiary care hospital in Haryana, India, and has achieved recognition as an All India rank 1 scorer in the DM Endocrinology entrance exam and recipient of the prestigious Dr. MMS Ahuja Award for best outgoing resident.

Dr. Boro treats the full spectrum of endocrine and metabolic diseases, including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, thyroid conditions (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer), PCOS, pituitary diseases, adrenal disorders, disorders of calcium and bone metabolism, gonadal disorders, obesity, and lipid disorders. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in international journals including The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, Clinical Endocrinology, and the Indian Journal of Medical Research, with notable research on bone health in endocrine diseases and rare pituitary conditions.

Dr. Boro is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Assamese, and Bengali. She practises evidence-based medicine and takes a compassionate, patient-centred approach, particularly when managing complex hormonal and metabolic conditions in children and adults.
