Prof. Hassan El-Tamimi

Prof. Hassan El-Tamimi is a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences and a consultant cardiologist at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital. He brings more than 30 years of clinical and academic experience in cardiovascular medicine, having trained and worked across the United Kingdom and the United States. His career spans leading teaching hospitals including Leeds General Infirmary, the Royal Postgraduate Medical School and Hammersmith Hospital in London, as well as major US institutions including the University of Florida, University of Texas Houston, the Texas Heart Institute, and Michigan State University, where he was Director of the Cardiovascular and Prevention Center.

Prof. El-Tamimi treats a broad range of heart and circulatory conditions, including chest pain and heart attacks from blocked arteries, heart failure, irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias), fainting episodes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol problems. He also manages patients who have had previous heart procedures such as angioplasty, bypass surgery, or valve replacement. His diagnostic expertise includes echocardiography (heart ultrasound), stress testing, and 24-hour heart rhythm monitoring.

He has published extensively, with 165 peer-reviewed articles and five book chapters to his name. Prof. El-Tamimi is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the European Society of Cardiology, the British Cardiac Society, the Royal Society of Medicine, and the New York Academy of Science—reflecting recognition across both sides of the Atlantic.
