Dr. Nisha Viji Varghese

Dr. Nisha Viji Varghese is a Specialist Neonatologist at Burjeel Abu Dhabi with over 15 years of dedicated practice in neonatology. She has been a core faculty member of the Arab Board Fellowship in Neonatology program at Tawam Hospital since 2022, helping train the next generation of neonatal specialists. Her clinical expertise spans the care of critically ill newborns, with a particular focus on extremely low birth weight and extremely premature infants.

Dr. Varghese specializes in managing the most vulnerable newborns in the intensive care unit, with a strong interest in neuroprotection—protecting the developing brain in very premature babies. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications on outcomes in preterm infants, quality improvement in neonatal care, and predictors of treatment success. She is an accredited Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) instructor since 2017, currently teaching the latest 9th edition protocols.
