Dr. Leila Ismail

Dr Leila Ismail is a British-trained Consultant Interventional Breast Radiologist with close to 20 years of healthcare experience. She obtained her medical degree (MBChB with Honours) from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 2008, and completed her Clinical Radiology training at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust in the United Kingdom, achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2016. She undertook two advanced clinical fellowships in breast and gynaecological imaging at centres of excellence across North West London.

Prior to relocating to Dubai in 2022, Dr Leila worked as a Consultant Radiologist within the NHS at several leading centres in London, gaining extensive experience in both screening and symptomatic breast units. She worked at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, which was the first NHS trust in the United Kingdom to perform MRI-guided breast biopsies. Her clinical work encompasses complex diagnostic and interventional breast imaging, including mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and image-guided biopsy techniques.

Dr Leila has a strong interest in education and research. She currently serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) and is regularly invited as faculty to national and international conferences. She is deeply committed to advancing breast cancer awareness.
