Dr. Salwa Taher

Dr Salwa Taher is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Reem Hospital with over 30 years of clinical experience. She holds an MBBCh and MSc from Egypt and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK). Her training includes a fellowship in Fetal Medicine from King's College London, a Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound from the Royal College of Radiologists, and a Diploma in Family Planning from the UK. She has worked at senior level in both the NHS and the UAE healthcare systems.

Dr Taher specializes in managing complex pregnancy cases, particularly high-risk obstetrics where she performs advanced procedures including repeat caesarean sections, external cephalic version (turning a breached baby), and specialized suturing techniques. She is experienced in detailed fetal ultrasound assessment, pregnancy complications, and perinatal care. Beyond pregnancy care, she treats menstrual disorders, menopause, infertility, and performs minimally invasive gynaecological surgeries including laparoscopic (keyhole), hysteroscopic (camera inside the womb), and vaginal procedures. She also performs colposcopy (examination of the cervix) and provides family planning services.

Dr Taher has contributed to international medical research on prematurity and has published peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals. She has been invited to speak at international medical congresses and serves as an examiner for a London medical school.
