Dr. Prakash Veerabasappa Suranagi

Dr. Prakash V Suranagi is a Specialist Ophthalmologist who has been practicing in the UAE since August 2016, with over 22 years of experience in eye care. He completed his postgraduate training in ophthalmology at Government Medical College in Bellary, Karnataka, India, and obtained his Basic Science Assessment from the International Council of Ophthalmology in 1998. He trained as an observer at Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre in the UK and completed a General Ophthalmology fellowship at Bangalore West Lion's Eye Hospital in India.

Dr. Suranagi has particular expertise in diagnosing and managing retinal diseases, including diabetic eye disease, retinopathy of prematurity (eye problems in premature babies), age-related retinal degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, and eyelid conditions. He received specialized laser training from Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai and L V Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad. Before moving to the UAE, he spent 16 years as a medical college faculty member and served as Professor and Head of the Ophthalmology Department.

His practice includes comprehensive eye assessments using modern diagnostic equipment such as optical coherence tomography (OCT) scanning, automated visual field testing, fundus photography, and ultrasound imaging to evaluate and manage eye conditions.
