Dr. Supriya Sundaram

Dr. Supriya Sundaram is a consultant pulmonologist with 30 years of clinical experience and dual accreditation in internal medicine and respiratory medicine. She completed her specialist respiratory training in Cambridge, England, and holds fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. She worked as a Consultant at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, UK, until 2013, and subsequently joined Kauvery Hospital in Chennai, India, where she continues to practise.

Dr. Sundaram has particular expertise in respiratory infections, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, and sleep studies. She undertook research at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge that led to her Doctorate in Medicine, with a thesis on non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis and measuring treatment outcomes. She also trained in lung transplantation. Her clinical work combines direct patient care with contributions to hospital infection control and antibiotic stewardship.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Sundaram is committed to medical education, having taught undergraduate and postgraduate students and served as a Royal College Tutor in Medicine.
