Dr. Filza Khalid

Dr Filza Khalid is a Consultant General Surgeon at Mediclinic Dubai with board certification from the Arab Board of Health Specialisations and fellowship of the American College of Surgeons. She graduated in the top ten of her class from Shifa College of Medicine in Islamabad, Pakistan, and completed the majority of her surgical training at Rashid Hospital, the Middle East's largest Level 1 trauma centre, with additional rotations at Dubai and Latifa Hospitals. She earned her Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England during her residency and served as Chief Resident in General Surgery.

Dr Khalid has extensive expertise in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and proctology, treating conditions ranging from hernias and appendicitis to haemorrhoids, anal fissures, and pelvic floor disorders. She performs laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repair, appendicectomy, diagnostic procedures, and emergency laparotomy for acute abdominal conditions. She also manages skin lesions including lipomas and sebaceous cysts, ingrown toenails, pilonidal sinus disease, and chronic wound care. She holds a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg and is currently pursuing specialist fellowship training in Proctology.

Dr Khalid is a certified Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor and was instrumental in launching the UAE's first nationwide Point of Care Ultrasound Workshop for surgical education. She remains actively involved in teaching and regularly presents at local and international surgical conferences, with multiple publications in her field. She is known for her clinical leadership and patient-centred approach.
