Dr. Tarek Rayan

Dr. Tarek Rayan is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, bringing 20 years of experience in neurosurgery across clinical and academic settings. A graduate of Alexandria University, he completed his neurosurgery residency there before undertaking specialized fellowships in cerebrovascular surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago and skull base/complex cranial surgery at Mayo Clinic in the USA. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Alexandria University's Department of Neurosurgery.

Dr. Rayan's clinical expertise spans complex brain and skull base tumour surgery, including vestibular schwannomas, pituitary adenomas, and meningiomas at challenging locations. He also manages cerebrovascular conditions such as aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations, as well as spinal pathologies including tumours, degenerative disc disease, trauma, and spinal deformities. His approach combines advanced surgical techniques honed through training at leading international centres.

He is well-suited for patients requiring specialized management of complex intracranial or spinal tumours, particularly those at the skull base or requiring vascular assessment, as well as those with functional neurosurgical conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia or hemifacial spasm.
