Dr. Tharaq Barami

Dr Tharaq Barami is a UK Board-certified Consultant Rheumatologist with over 25 years of experience in general medicine and more than 14 years specializing in rheumatology. He trained in the UK under the National Health Service at leading institutions including Queens Medical Centre Nottingham and Royal Derby Hospitals, following his medical degree from Manipal Academy in India. Before joining King's College Hospital London Dubai, he held consultant positions at University Hospitals of Leicester and Kettering General Hospital.

Dr Barami manages a broad spectrum of rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoporosis. He has particular expertise in autoimmune vasculitis and connective tissue diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis, Sjögren's syndrome, inflammatory myositis, and Behçet's disease. He performs joint and soft tissue injections as part of his treatment approach.

Dr Barami is actively involved in medical education and is a founding member of the Leicester Academy for Rheumatology Nurses. He previously served as General Medical module lead for Leicester Medical School students at Kettering General Hospital, reflecting his commitment to training the next generation of doctors and nurses in rheumatology.
