Dr. Gursharan Singh

Dr Gursharan Singh is a Specialist in General Surgery at NMC Royal Family Medical Centre in Abu Dhabi, with over 25 years of surgical experience. He completed his MS in General Surgery from Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 1997 and underwent advanced training in hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery and liver transplantation at the University of Rennes, France in 2007. He has worked in leading hospitals including Amrita Hospital and Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi, Kerala, and further developed his expertise in multi-organ transplantation at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in Delhi and in Seoul, Korea.

Dr Singh specializes in the full range of digestive system surgery, with particular expertise in liver, pancreas and bile duct conditions. He is skilled in both open surgery and modern keyhole (laparoscopic) techniques. His experience includes liver resections for cancer and injury, pancreatic surgery for cancer and chronic pancreatitis, gallbladder and bile duct operations, and complex transplantation procedures including liver, kidney and pancreas transplants. He has performed pioneering surgeries including the first successful dual liver and kidney transplant in Coimbatore.

Dr Singh is an active member of the International Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Association, The Transplantation Society and The Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology. He publishes regularly in peer-reviewed medical journals and serves as a reviewer for international publications. He speaks Hindi, English and Tamil fluently.
