Dr. Adriana Rotundo

Dr. Adriana Rotundo is a consultant general, laparoscopic, and bariatric surgeon at Reem Hospital in Abu Dhabi. She trained in Italy, completing her residency at La Sapienza College in Rome, and went on to complete a bariatric fellowship at University College Hospital in London. She holds accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and brings 10 years of surgical experience.

Dr. Rotundo specializes in weight-loss surgery using minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques. She performs gastric bypass (both mini and standard), sleeve gastrectomy, gastric banding, and gastric balloon insertion. She also has particular expertise in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and hiatal hernia, managing these conditions from initial diagnosis through surgical treatment when needed. A key strength is her experience with revision procedures—helping patients who did not achieve desired results with an initial weight-loss surgery.

She is director of the International Bariatric Club in the Middle East and an active member of the Emirates Medical Association, the Emirates Surgical Metabolic and Bariatric Society, and the Mini Gastric Bypass Collaborative Research Group. Before joining Reem Hospital, she worked at leading UK hospitals including John Radcliffe Hospital and University Hospital of North Midlands, as well as major UAE facilities where she performed extensive weight-loss procedures.
