Dr. Ayman Ahmed Rashed

Dr. Ayman Rashed is an ophthalmologist with extensive training and academic credentials from Cairo University, Egypt, where he qualified as a Doctor of Medicine in 2002 and went on to earn both a Master's degree (2007) and Doctorate (2011) in Ophthalmology. He has held the position of Lecturer in Ophthalmology at Cairo University's Faculty of Medicine since 2011, combining clinical practice with teaching and research. Since joining Mediclinic Abu Dhabi in 2019, he has developed a strong focus on refractive surgery, successfully performing over 700 LASIK procedures in the UAE and more than 2,000 cases throughout his career.

Dr. Rashed treats a wide range of eye conditions, with particular expertise in refractive errors—shortsightedness, longsightedness, and astigmatism—using advanced surgical techniques including LASIK, FemtoLASIK, and PRK. He also diagnoses and manages corneal diseases, dry eye syndrome (using punctal plugs and intense pulse light therapy), and keratoconus (a progressive corneal condition), including specialized treatments like corneal cross-linking and intacs implants. His approach combines thorough evaluation and diagnosis with tailored treatment options for each patient.

Dr. Rashed is well-regarded in the international ophthalmology community, having presented research at numerous local and international conferences and participated in advanced training workshops.
