Dr. Hanaa Tarek El-Zawawy

Dr. Hanaa El-Zawawy is a Consultant Endocrinologist with more than 14 years of clinical experience. She earned her medical degree with honours from Alexandria University in Egypt, where she also completed her specialist training in the Endocrinology department. She went on to obtain her Master's degree in 2011 and her Doctorate (MD) in Endocrinology in 2015, both from Alexandria University. Before joining the American Hospital Dubai, she worked as a Consultant in Endocrinology at Alexandria Main University Hospital and held an academic position as Assistant Professor at Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine, where she taught medical students and specialist trainees.

Dr. El-Zawawy manages a broad range of endocrine conditions. Her clinical work spans thyroid disease (including overactive and underactive thyroid, Graves' disease, nodules and cancer), diabetes of all types, pituitary and growth hormone disorders, adrenal conditions, calcium and parathyroid disorders, vitamin D deficiency, reproductive hormone issues including polycystic ovarian syndrome and infertility-related endocrine causes, and medical weight management. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals and is an active reviewer for several medical publications.

With a special research and clinical interest in thyroid disease, Dr. El-Zawawy combines academic rigour with practical patient care. She is a member of both the European Society of Endocrinology and the Egyptian Society of Endocrinology and Obesity, and regularly attends international endocrinology conferences.
