Dr. Ahmad Jazzar

Dr. Ahmad Jazzar is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Burjeel Day Surgery Center on Al Reem Island, bringing over 23 years of clinical expertise in digestive system disorders and liver disease. He holds American Board Certification in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Jazzar trained at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology, and earned his medical degree from Aleppo University's Faculty of Medicine in Syria.

His practice focuses on advanced endoscopic procedures—including ERCP (a minimally invasive technique for pancreatic and bile duct problems), endoscopic ultrasound, capsule endoscopy, and small bowel enteroscopy—as well as hepatology (liver disease), liver transplantation, inflammatory bowel disease, viral hepatitis, and colorectal disease. He has delivered over 100 presentations and authored more than 30 publications, including work on hepatitis B and C, inflammatory bowel disease management in the Gulf region, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NASH), and iron deficiency.

Dr. Jazzar has held significant leadership roles, including Chief of the Gastroenterology Division at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi and Consultant Hepatologist at the Oklahoma Transplantation Institute. He is fluent in English and Arabic, making him accessible to a diverse patient population.
