Dr. Ghassan Nakib

Dr. Ghassan Nakib is a consultant paediatric surgeon with nearly 20 years of experience treating children across Lebanon and Italy. He trained at the University of Pavia in Italy, where he earned both his medical degree and specialist diploma in paediatric surgery. He completed further training in France at Claude-Bernard University in Lyon and obtained a master's degree in paediatric laparoscopic surgery from the University of Bologna. Most recently, he was a consultant paediatric surgeon at IRCCS Fondazione Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia, one of Italy's largest teaching hospitals.

Dr. Nakib specialises in minimally invasive approaches to children's surgery, with particular expertise in laparoscopic and robotic techniques. His main areas of focus are gastroenterological paediatric surgery (conditions affecting the digestive system) and urological paediatric surgery (conditions affecting the urinary and reproductive systems in children). He is skilled in keyhole surgery and robotic-assisted procedures, which reduce recovery time and scarring compared to open surgery.

He holds fellowships from the American College of Surgeons and is an adjunct clinical professor of paediatric surgery at MBRU, combining clinical practice with teaching. An Executive Master's degree in Healthcare Management reflects his broader engagement with medical administration. He is fluent in English, French, Italian and Arabic.
