Dr. Rasha Abbas

Dr. Rasha Abbas is a Consultant Psychiatrist at Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi, with extensive training and experience across general psychiatry and addiction specialisation. She completed her basic psychiatry training at Charing Cross Hospital in London and her higher specialist training in Scotland through NHS Grampian and Lothian. She has held academic teaching positions and was an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Dundee University, where she supervised medical students and served as an examiner.

Dr. Rasha's clinical expertise spans a wide range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), psychosis including schizophrenia, addiction disorders, and mental health issues specific to pregnancy and the postpartum period. She has particular clinical interests in anxiety and mood disorders, smoking cessation, and perinatal (pregnancy-related) psychiatry. Before joining Danat Al Emarat, she worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the American Center in Abu Dhabi and in the NHS in Scotland.

Dr. Rasha is committed to a holistic, patient-centred approach that considers biological, psychological, and social factors in treating mental illness. She combines clinical expertise with a passion for public education and has been actively involved in teaching and supervising medical professionals throughout her career.
