Dr. Jassem Abdou

Dr. Jassem Abdou is a consultant pulmonologist with over 30 years of experience in respiratory medicine and sleep disorders. He trained at the University of Lille in France and holds French Board Certification in Pulmonary Diseases. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions as Head of Department at several leading UAE hospitals, including Advance Cure Diagnostic Centre, Reem Hospital, Health Point, and Zayed Military Hospital.

Dr. Abdou specializes in the full spectrum of lung conditions—from common issues like asthma and COPD to complex diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis and cystic fibrosis. He is skilled in interventional pulmonology procedures including bronchoscopy (camera inspection of the airways), biopsies, and pleural procedures such as draining fluid from around the lungs. He also performs pulmonary function testing to assess how well your lungs work, and manages sleep disorders with CPAP and BiPAP therapy (breathing support machines used at night).

Dr. Abdou combines international training with evidence-based practice and a patient-centered approach. He teaches trainee doctors through the Arab Board of Internal Medicine and is an active member of the American Thoracic Society and the European and Emirates Respiratory Society. He has published research on cystic fibrosis, COPD patterns, and sleep apnea.
