Dr. Faiza Hashmi

Dr. Faiza Hashmi is a critical care consultant at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi with 7 years of clinical experience. She holds an M.B.B.S. from King Edward Medical School in Pakistan and completed her internal medicine residency and chief residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. She then pursued specialized fellowship training in critical care medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, one of the world's leading medical centres.

Dr. Hashmi is double board certified in both internal medicine and critical care medicine, and specializes in diagnosing and treating life-threatening conditions in the intensive care unit (ICU). Her particular clinical interests include sepsis (severe infections affecting the body), acute respiratory distress syndrome (severe breathing failure), and post-cardiac arrest care. She holds professional memberships with the American College of Chest Physicians and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Beyond direct patient care, Dr. Hashmi is actively involved in medical education and quality improvement. She mentors and trains internal medicine residents during their ICU rotations and serves as a liaison between the residency program and the ICU, helping to develop their clinical skills. She also participates in quality improvement and guideline development committees aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
