Dr. Hilal Omar

Dr. Hilal Omar is a consultant otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, where he leads the surgical airway service. With 26 years of experience and European Board certification in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery, he has been a core member of the head and neck multidisciplinary team within SEHA since 2014. He trained at Cairo University in Egypt, where he earned his master's degree in 2004.

Dr. Omar specializes in treating cancers of the head and neck region—including laryngeal, throat, neck, mouth, jaw, and facial cancers—working within a collaborative team approach. He is also an expert in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland disorders, neck lumps, and reconstructive surgery. Additionally, he provides endoscopic approaches to the nasal cavity, sinuses, and anterior cranial fossa as part of the craniofacial team.

Dr. Omar is a professor at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, where he teaches head and neck surgery to medical and nursing students in the UAE. He is well-suited for patients requiring complex head and neck procedures, cancer treatment, or thyroid surgery in a teaching-hospital setting.
