Dr. Monika Kaushal

Dr. Monika Kaushal is a consultant neonatologist and pediatrician affiliated with Emirates Hospitals Group in Dubai. She completed her MD in Pediatrics at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Chandigarh, and her DM in Neonatology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She has undertaken specialist training at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) in the UK and holds a Diploma in Neonatology with distinction from Southampton University. Dr. Kaushal is a certified lactation expert and continues professional development through quality-improvement courses with the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In neonatology, Dr. Kaushal specializes in the care of extremely premature babies (from 23 weeks gestation and 500g weight), high-risk newborns, severe birth asphyxia treated with cooling therapy, heart conditions requiring screening and specialist transport, dangerously high jaundice levels managed with blood exchange, and metabolic disorders. She has extensive experience with advanced ventilation techniques and neonatal ultrasound. In general pediatrics, she manages respiratory illnesses, infections, developmental delays, behavioral and developmental assessments (including autism and ADHD evaluation), feeding difficulties, allergies, and provides routine vaccinations and well-child assessments.

Dr. Kaushal advocates for gentle, family-centered care and emphasizes developmental follow-up for babies discharged from neonatal care. She is active in teaching, conducting workshops internationally and helping shape neonatal protocols for the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. She holds the 2025 Pediatrician of the Year award and serves as Vice President of the Emirates Pediatric and Neonatal Society and President-Elect of the IAP Neonatal Chapter.
