Dr. Muhammad Azhar Abdullah

Dr. Muhammad Azhar Abdullah is a UK-trained consultant rheumatologist and physician with 20 years of experience in musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. He graduated from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore in 2005 and completed specialist training through the West of Scotland Deanery. During his training, he worked at leading NHS institutions including Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and Royal Alexandra Hospital Paisley. He held consultant positions at University Hospital Ayr and Forth Valley Royal Hospital before moving to the UAE, where he now practises at NMC Healthcare Sharjah.

Dr. Azhar diagnoses and manages a wide range of joint and rheumatological conditions, from rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis to lupus, vasculitis, and ankylosing spondylitis. He has extensive experience with biologic therapies (advanced medications for autoimmune diseases), musculoskeletal ultrasound scanning, and joint injections. He also specialises in bone health and osteoporosis prevention, as well as muscle pain conditions including fibromyalgia.

He is committed to evidence-based care with an emphasis on accurate early diagnosis and intervention. Dr. Azhar holds academic affiliations with the University of Glasgow and the Royal College of Physicians, and has presented research at major international conferences including the British Society for Rheumatology and EULAR (European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology).
