Dr. May Yassin Raouf

Dr. May Yassin Raouf is a Consultant in Transfusion Medicine at Dubai Health, where she has worked since 2016. She trained in hematopathology (the study of blood and related tissue disorders) at Mustansiriyah University in Iraq, completing her medical degree in 1991 after an initial MBBS qualification in 1986. Prior to joining Dubai Health, she spent 18 years with the Ministry of Health in the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Raouf specializes in transfusion medicine and blood and cord bank services—the collection, testing, storage, and safe use of blood and blood products for patients. She has contributed to international guidance on blood safety and supply, including publications on maintaining safe blood supplies during emergencies and pandemics, and on ensuring access to quality blood products as part of universal healthcare.

She is fluent in both English and Arabic, bringing broad experience in hematopathology and transfusion practice to her role. Her career reflects a commitment to blood safety and public health at both national and international levels.
