Dr. Bart van Wagensveld

Dr. Bart van Wagensveld is a consultant bariatric surgeon at NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi with 27 years of clinical experience. He holds an MD and PhD from the University of Amsterdam and trained as a general surgeon at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam from 1998 to 2003, where he specialised in gastrointestinal and laparoscopic surgery. He completed a fellowship in pancreato-biliary surgery in London and was subsequently appointed consultant surgeon and head of the surgical department at Sint Lucas Andreas Hospital in Amsterdam, one of the Netherlands' largest teaching hospitals.

Dr. van Wagensveld is an expert in minimally invasive (keyhole) bariatric surgery, offering a full range of weight-loss procedures including gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, adjustable gastric band, and more complex operations such as duodenal switch and single-anastomosis procedures.
