Dr. Mohammed Nabil Quraishi

Dr Mohammed Nabil Quraishi is a dual UK board-certified Consultant Gastroenterologist and Internal Medicine Physician with 12 years of clinical experience. He directs the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Centre at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, one of the region's leading IBD programmes. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians London and Edinburgh, and the European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and serves as Adjunct Associate Professor at Khalifa University and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.

Dr Quraishi provides comprehensive care for Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and related conditions including PSC-IBD. His clinical expertise includes advanced biologic and small-molecule therapies, drug monitoring, faecal microbiota transplantation (stool transplant), and specialist diagnostic and endoscopic procedures for IBD. He and his team work closely with patients to navigate insurance barriers and find supported treatment pathways, ensuring access to care for all who need it.

He leads the UAE's largest portfolio of phase 3 IBD clinical trials, offering eligible patients access to next-generation therapies before they become widely available. His research spans IBD epidemiology in the UAE and Middle East, precision medicine, and gut microbiome science, with support from major bodies including the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation and the UK Medical Research Council. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles in top journals and co-edited a core gastroenterology textbook. He also serves as Clinical and Scientific Advisor to the University of Birmingham Microbiome Treatment Centre.
