Dr. Sheena Cherry Barns Joy

Dr. Sheena Cherry Barns Joy is an internal medicine physician at Emirates Hospital Jumeirah in Dubai. She completed her MBBS at the University of Kerala in India, followed by an MD from Annamalai University. She undertook specialized training including a fellowship in critical medicine at Apollo Hospital in Chennai and postgraduate cardiology training through Johns Hopkins University. She also holds an MBA in Hospital Management. Before joining Emirates Hospitals Group, she worked at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Sheena manages a broad range of acute and chronic conditions affecting adults, including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, weight management, digestive disorders, and infections. She has particular expertise in caring for older patients with multiple conditions and those recovering from serious illnesses such as COVID-19. Her background in critical medicine and cardiology enables her to manage complex medical cases and complications.
