Dr. Bharat Sapra

Dr. Bharat Sapra is a Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at Burjeel Medical Center with 25 years of clinical experience across India and the UAE. He completed his medical degree and specialist training in India, earning his gastroenterology doctorate from PGIMER Chandigarh as a gold medallist, and holds MRCP (UK) certification from the Royal College of Physicians and British Society of Gastroenterology. Before joining Burjeel, he was Senior Professor at SMS Medical College, Jaipur, and later practiced as a Consultant at NMC Royal Hospital, Dubai.

Dr. Sapra manages a broad range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions using advanced endoscopic techniques. He performs high-volume endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)—approximately 400 cases yearly—and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) imaging around 120 cases annually. His expertise covers variceal bleeding control, stricture management, removal of gallstones and foreign bodies, and treatment of complex pancreatic and biliary diseases. He also specializes in gastrointestinal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric endoscopy (age 8+), and neurogastroenterology, and has trained over 50 postdoctoral fellows in therapeutic endoscopy.

Dr. Sapra is well suited for patients requiring complex endoscopic intervention, liver assessment, or second opinions on difficult gastrointestinal and pancreatic problems. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
