About Dr. Augusto Ordonez
Dr. Augusto Ordonez is a Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiologist at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai. He is also involved in teaching future physicians at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences. With more than 20 years of experience, he has completed specialist training in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology at leading centres including the University of Barcelona in Spain.
Dr. Ordonez specialises in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias), including common conditions like atrial fibrillation and irregular heartbeats, as well as rare hereditary conditions such as Brugada Syndrome and Long-QT Syndrome. He has performed more than 2,000 heart rhythm procedures and device implantations. His expertise covers catheter ablation (using advanced 3D navigation with zero X-ray exposure), pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, and management of syncope (fainting episodes).
He is a European board-certified cardiologist and active member of the Spanish Society of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, and European Heart Rhythm Association. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the European Heart Journal.
